My love affair with the Malamutes began 15 years ago when I saw my first Malamute.  I had gone to see a half wolf, half
malamute puppy.  The sire was a huge, gorgeous gray/white woolly male and I lost my heart to that beautiful creature.  I
didn't adopt a puppy but I knew someday I would own one of those magnificent creatures.  When Rick and I met 8 years
ago, he asked me what kind of puppy I would like to have and I immediately jumped on the chance to own a Malamute.   We
began to search for one and, as they are not a commonly found dog, found one 3 months later, our
ASHLEY.   Our love
affair with the Alaskan Malamute began.........and it will never end.  We don't consider our dogs "property" or "stock."  We
consider our dogs "family."  They will always live here, whether they're breeding or not....we don't sell our dogs off just because
they are no longer producing puppies......
Our Story...
Each litter
has it's own
plaque to
acknowledge
the puppies.

Each of our
dogs have
their own
personalized
plaque for
their yards.

Bronco and Ripley
even have their
own personal Koi
pond (left).  They
love to watch the
Koi and are very
protective of the
baby koi.  They
growl when other
dogs get near
their babies.
Bronco loved to
dangle his feet in
the water of our
big Koi pond
(right) but he fell
in a few times so
we had to put
some rails up on
the sides. Now he
has his own little
pond.....

Skyland Malamutes is a small kennel, raising only 6-8 litters a year.  We take great pride in our dogs and only
breed them once a year or every two years.  Our puppies are handled from day one.  We implement the
U.S.
Military's Bio-Sensor "Super Dog" Program
and the Rules of 7 Program and begin training when the puppies
are 3 days old.  These simple exercises result in dogs that are more confident, less affected by stress, generally
more interested in their environment, easier to train, and in better health. We believe in
Giving Puppies a
Good Start.   Our puppies happiness is very important to us.  We want our dogs to be outgoing, confident,
playful and enjoy their lives.  We don't want any shy, withdrawn puppies.
We offer a two-year genetic health guarantee and sell with limited non-breeding registration.  We are here for
our new buyers long after our puppies go to their new homes.  Feel free to call anytime you have any questions
or concerns.  We love for our buyers to come and meet all of our dogs and see our property.  We are very
proud of the environment that we provide for our dogs.  We try and give them the best of everything.
We love receiving pictures of our dogs from their new homes.  It's like getting new pictures of our grand kids.
We hope you get a chance to come for a visit.....

We call it "Last frontier" and "Land of the midnight sun" but, to those who know and love dogs, Alaska is
much more than a vast frozen wilderness. It is home to the magnificent Alaskan Malamute. Hailing from the
Kotzebue Sound on Alaska's northwest coast, the Malamute takes its name from the native Eskimos, who
reside there known as the Mahlemuts. Beyond taking the name of their human family, Alaska's Malamutes
became veritable mirrors of the people with whom they share their lives. The dogs and humans evolved
together, through the centuries taking on similar characteristics that enhanced their interdependence.
