At Skyland Malamutes, we take a lot of pride in the environment we provide for our dogs. You can see the love and care we put into our Condos. We treasure our dogs and love to spoil them.
Our Alaskan Malamute Compound From these views, you can see some of the Nursery Condos we have. We now have 11 total plus our big doghouse. We are not a Puppy Mill. We do not sell to pet shops or brokers. We sell with limited registration. Our nurseries have a skylight, lights, fans, heaters, and a deck for the new puppies.
Our new addition Each of our new mommies will have their own private nursery condo to relax and take care of her babies. Each Nursery has its own yard for mom to teach the puppies to go outside and potty....
We call it "Last frontier" and "Land of the midnight sun" but, to those who know and love dogs, Alaska is much more than a vast frozen wilderness. It is home to the magnificent Alaskan Malamute. Hailing from the Kotzebue Sound on Alaska's northwest coast, the Malamute takes its name from the native Eskimos, who reside there known as the Mahlemuts. Beyond taking the name of their human family, Alaska's Malamutes became veritable mirrors of the people with whom they share their lives. The dogs and humans evolved together, through the centuries taking on similar characteristics that enhanced their interdependence.

My love affair with the Malamutes began 15 years ago when I saw my first Malamute. I had gone to see a half wolf, half malamute puppy. The sire was a huge, gorgeous gray/white woolly male and I lost my heart to that beautiful creature. I didn't adopt a puppy but I knew someday I would own one of those magnificent creatures. When Rick and I met 7 years ago, he asked me what kind of puppy I would like to have and I immediately jumped on the chance to own a Malamute. We began to search for one and, as they are not a commonly found dog, found one 3 months later, our ASHLEY. Our love affair with the Alaskan Malamute began.........and it will never end. We don't consider our dogs "property" or "stock." We consider our dogs "family." They will always live here, whether they're breeding or not....we don't sell our dogs off just because they don't produce puppies for us......
We have 11 condos for our dogs. They each have a huge yard for the dogs to roam plus they roam our 7 acres during the day. We want each of our dogs to have their own house....

Each litter has it's own plaque to acknowledge the puppies. Each of our dogs have their own personalized plaque for their yards....

Swimming hole During the hot part of the day, the dogs love to swim and then take their naps under their fans in their cool doghouse.

Our dogs love playing with the water hose....just drop it on the ground and they entertain themselves.....so we had a bubbler installed to keep them busy and cool......they always have wet faces now.....

The 4 new dog yards we're building this summer.....we've completed one duplex and the four yards so far.....we'll finish the other duplex after it cools off next month.....

Our new dog yards with the duplex. Our dogs have the run of our 7 acres during the day and love to come into their own yard for their afternoon naps and at night.

Bronco and Ripley even have their own personal Koi pond (left). They love to watch the Koi and are very protective of the babies. They growl when other dogs get near their babies. Bronco loved to dangle his feet in the water of our big Koi pond (right) but he fell in a few times so we had to put some rails up on the sides. Now he has his own little pond.....
